Speaking at the Standing Committee meeting on Wednesday, Chairman Dahal affirmed the party’s intention to vie for the prestigious position.

During Tuesday’s meeting, party leaders had urged Chairman Dahal to assert the party’s claim for the chairmanship.

In a parallel development, the Nepali Congress, the coalition partner of the Maoist Center, has also announced its intention to compete for the position.
