Lumbini Province limits Madhesh to 169 runs in PM Cup



KATHMANDU: In a thrilling encounter of the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament 2024, Madhesh Province posted a target of 170 runs for Lumbini Province. The match, held at Mulpani Cricket Ground, witnessed Lumbini Province’s strategic decision to field first after winning the toss.

Lumbini Province’s decision paid off as they successfully bowled out Madhesh Province for 169 runs in 41.3 overs.

The standout performers in Lumbini’s bowling attack included Bir Bahadur Gharti Magar, who claimed four crucial wickets, and Avishek Gautam, who secured three wickets for the team.

Additionally, Krishna Karki, MD Husain, and Nirmal Gurung contributed with one wicket each, showcasing a collective effort in restricting Madhesh.

On the batting front, Araniko Yadav led Madhesh Province with the highest score of 38 runs, supported by valuable contributions from Pawan Sarraf and Abhishek Tiwari, who added 26 runs each to the scoreboard.

Mayan Yadav and Anil Sah also made noteworthy contributions with 22 and 16 runs, respectively.
