Tribhuvan Army sets a target of 280 runs for Karnali with Captain Bhandari’s record-breaking century

KATHMANDU: In a thrilling encounter of the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament 2024, Tribhuvan Army Club’s Captain Binod Bhandari showcased his exceptional batting prowess by scoring a century against Karnali Province.

This outstanding achievement has made Binod Bhandari the sole player to hit three centuries in the history of the PM Cup.

In the initial stages of the match, Karnali Province won the toss and chose to bowl first, hoping to limit the opposition’s run-scoring opportunities.

However, the decision proved challenging as Binod Bhandari’s century, combined with Basir Ahamed’s impressive knock of 98 runs, propelled the Army Club to a commanding total of 179 runs, losing five wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

Binod Bhandari’s remarkable feat of achieving three centuries in the PM Cup history underscores his consistent and exceptional performance in the tournament. His innings not only set a formidable target for Karnali but also solidified his reputation as a standout player in Nepalese cricket.

In response to the Army Club’s batting display, Karnali Province faced a challenging task, with Dipendra Rawat taking two wickets, and Prakash Jaisi, Dinesh Adhikari, and Diwan Pun claiming one wicket each.
