SEBON Chairman Shrestha assumes office

KATHMANDU: Santosh Narayan Shrestha, the newly-appointed Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), assumed office on Wednesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, he took the oath of office and secrecy administered by Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, assuming his responsibilities as Chairman starting today.

In his address following the assumption of office, Chairman Shrestha expressed his commitment to constructing a dedicated office building for SEBON during his tenure, as the organization has so far operated from a rented space.

Shrestha also vowed to work tirelessly for the development of the capital market, acknowledging that several crucial tasks have been delayed due to a lack of leadership.

He pledged to complete these pending tasks and expand the capital market to benefit investors.

As his first official task, Chairman Shrestha signed the file to register the bonus shares of Everest Bank.
