KATHMANDU: A landslide near Nagdhunga, near Kathmandu, has triggered significant traffic congestion, affecting access to the federal capital.
The landslide, which occurred while volunteers were clearing another blockage from a landslide, has completely obstructed the main route into Kathmandu for two hours.
Efforts to clear the road are underway, with a dozer currently working to remove debris near the Kathmandu-Nagadhunga-Naubise tunnel.
However, the situation remains challenging, as vehicles heading both into and out of the capital are stuck in a lengthy traffic jam that extends from Naubise towards Dhading.
Traffic has been fully halted towards Nagadhunga due to the landslide.
While the landslides in Naubise have been cleared, the Department of Roads is dispatching additional dozers to address the situation near Nagadhunga.
Meanwhile, traffic conditions on the Mugling-Narayangadh and Pokhara road sections remain normal.
