IN PICS: Voting begins to elect office bearers and politburo members of CPN (US)



KATHMANDU: The CPN (Unified Socialist), led by Madhav Kumar Nepal, is holding a ‘mini general convention’ on Tuesday.

The party is conducting elections to select 17 office bearers and 105 politburo members.

The party will elect six Vice Chairmen, four Deputy General Secretaries, and seven Secretaries.

Voting is currently underway.

Rajendra Prasad Pandey has been elected unopposed as the Senior Vice Chairman of the party.

Earlier, Madhav Kumar Nepal was elected as Chairman, Ghan Shyam Bhusal as General Secretary, and Jhalnath Khanal as the Respected Leader of the party.

A total of 15 candidates are contesting for the six Vice Chairman positions, and 19 are vying for the four Deputy General Secretary posts.

Additionally, Ram Kumari Jhakri and Jayanti Devi Rai are competing for the position of Female Vice Chairman of the party.
