RSP expels Dr. Mukul Dhakal from party

KATHMANDU: Dr. Mukul Dhakal, former General Secretary and central member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been expelled even from ordinary membership.

The expulsion was announced today following a Central Committee meeting held at the party’s central office in Banasthali.

Dhakal’s expulsion came after he failed to provide satisfactory explanations in response to inquiries made on June 26 and August 22.

Dhakal’s expulsion follows a review report he prepared after the by-elections in Ilam last Baisakh.

In his report, Dhakal criticized the work style and management process of party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane.

As a result, on July 9, RSP dismissed Dhakal from his roles as General Secretary, Spokesperson, and central member.
