NC President Deuba expresses gratitude for peaceful by-elections



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for the peaceful conduct of the by-elections in Ilam and Jhapa on Saturday.

In a statement issued today, President Deuba thanked all parties involved for successfully holding the by-elections in the House of Representatives (HoR) constituency-2 in Ilam and HoR constituency-1(a) in Bajhang in a peaceful environment.

He also remarked on the enthusiastic participation of voters, highlighting it as a demonstration of the deep and unwavering trust of Nepali citizens in democracy.

President Deuba expressed confidence that the results of the by-elections would contribute to building a fair and just society grounded in democratic values.

“I extend my gratitude to the voters of Ilam and Bajhang for their patient participation in the electoral process.

It is believed that their active engagement will further strengthen and institutionalize the federal democratic republic,” he stated.

Additionally, the NC President expressed appreciation for the Election Commission, civil service employees, security personnel, political parties, and media personnel for their respective roles in ensuring the successful conduct of the elections in a peaceful and secure environment.
