Weather Update: Possibility of storms in Koshi and Sudurpaschim regions

KATHMANDU: The nation continues to experience the lingering effects of westerly winds combined with local weather patterns.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division reports that hilly areas of Koshi Province and Sudurpaschim Province are experiencing partly cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country enjoys mainly fair weather.

This afternoon, the sky over hilly regions of Gandaki Province, Karnali Province, and Sudurpaschim Province is expected to be partly cloudy, with fair conditions prevailing elsewhere in the country.

The Division warns of brief spells of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in select areas of these provinces, as well as isolated occurrences in other hilly regions across the country.

Additionally, light snowfall is anticipated at higher elevations in Gandaki Province, Karnali Province, and Sudurpaschim Province.

There is also a possibility of storms in certain areas of Lumbini Province, Sudurpaschim Province, Gandaki Province, and Koshi Province.

Tonight, the weather in Koshi Province, Gandaki Province, and Karnali Province is forecasted to be partly cloudy, while the rest of the country will experience mainly fair conditions.

Brief rainfall or thundershowers may occur in isolated locations of the hilly regions in these provinces.

Furthermore, there are chances of light snowfall and rainfall at select spots in the high-hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province, Gandaki Province, and Karnali Province.

Over the next 24 hours, brief episodes of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning are predicted in some hilly areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, Karnali Province, and Sudurpaschim Province.
