No authorization for carrying weapons outside home: Home Secretary Aryal

KATHMANDU: Home Secretary Ekanarayan Aryal stated that permission has not been granted to carry modern weapons outside the compound of the house.

Speaking at the House of Representatives’ State Affairs and Good Governance Committee on Wednesday, Home Secretary Aryal addressed concerns regarding the security guards of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai.

Secretary Aryal emphasized that the modern weapon seized from Prasai’s security guard on March 18 could not be used publicly.

“That weapon cannot be taken out of the compound of their house. No law approves it,” he said, adding, “The Ministry is investigating the controversial licensing of Prasai’s weapons.”

Lawmaker Raghuji Pant expressed concerns over the modern weapon recovered from Prasai’s bodyguard while at the Supreme Court premises.
