Police Chief Kunwar: No evidence of Home Minister Lamichhane’s involvement in cooperative fraud



KATHMANDU: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Basanta Bahadur Kunwar has clarified that the police have not found any evidence implicating Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in the cooperative fraud case.

Speaking at a meeting of the state affairs and good governance committee under the House of Representatives (HoR), IGP Kunwar stated that despite receiving complaints, no incriminating evidence linking Lamichhane to the case has been uncovered thus far.

IGP Kunwar further revealed that the police have apprehended five individuals connected to the case, while 15 others remain at large.

He identified GB Rai as the primary suspect and informed the committee that a diffusion notice has been issued against Rai after receiving information about his whereabouts in Malaysia.
