Four names recommended for CPN (Maoist Center) candidate in Illam-2 by-election

KATHMANDU: Ahead of the upcoming by-election in Illam-2, the CPN (Maoist Center) has put forward four names as potential candidates for the constituency.

The Provincial Committee, upon the recommendation of the District Committee, has submitted a list of four candidates to the party’s central office, from which the final candidate will be selected.

Harka Bahadur Nembang, Chairman of the party for Koshi Province, disclosed that the recommended candidates include Direndra Sharma Timalsina, Urmila Tamang, Om Bahadur Gurung, and Kumar Baraili.

Meanwhile, the CPN-UML has already announced Suhang Nembang, the son of late party leader Subhash Nembang, as its candidate for the by-election.

On the other hand, the Nepali Congress is likely to nominate Dambar Bahadur Khadka as its candidate for the same constituency.

The Rastriya Swatantra Party and CPN (Unified Socialist) are yet to finalize their candidates for the election.

As the election date approaches, all political parties are gearing up for a competitive contest in Illam-2, with each vying to secure victory in the by-election.
