Two arrested in Jhapa with 301 grams of brown sugar



 

JHAPA: The Armed Police Force (APF) has arrested two individuals in Jhapa district for possession of 301 grams of brown sugar.

According to APF Nepal Border Out Post Maheshpur, the suspects were taken into custody from Jhulungepul in Bhadrapur Municipality-3 on Friday evening.

The arrested individuals include a 24-year-old from Kawajit, Bhanu Municipality-12, Tanahun district, and a 27-year-old from Singhiya, Ramdhuni Municipality-3, Sunsari district.

They were traveling from India to Nepal on a scooter (Ba 90 Pa 1675) when security personnel on patrol stopped them for a routine check.

Upon inspection, authorities discovered 301 grams of brown sugar hidden in four packets inside the scooter’s battery box.

The suspects, along with the seized contraband, cash, and other items, have been handed over to the concerned agency for further investigation and legal action.
