IED explosion in Bara claims three lives, suspects apprehended



BARA: The death toll resulting from an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in Nijgadh municipality-7, Bara, has tragically risen to three.

The District Police Office in Bara confirmed that the latest victims identified are Rakesh Jayasawal from Gawahi, India, and Ritu Rajat from Birgunj metropolis-9, Parsa.

Those injured in the incident are currently receiving medical care at Bayodha Hospital in Birgunj, according to Office Spokesperson Dadhiram Neupane.

The incident, which occurred on Monday at the Rohit Worship site, claimed the life of its owner, Resham Jarga Magar from Nijgadh municipality-9, on the spot.

Reports suggest that Raj Jaisawal visited the worship site seeking to remove copper attached to an object, triggering the explosion during the metal separation process.

Following the incident, the police have taken several individuals into custody on suspicion of their involvement.

Among them, Firod Devan from Birgunj metropolis-9 and Ariban Shah from Gadhawa, India, have been arrested, as confirmed by Spokesperson Neupane.

Additionally, Raj Jaisawal and his spouse, Sushiladevi Jaisawal, have also been detained for further investigation, with authorities intensively probing the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
