The important shrine in Taplejung, Pathivara, witnessed snowfall on Friday, according to locals. An employee at Pathivara area development committee, Rajendra Mahato, informed that it was the third time the Pathivara area recorded snow.

Similarly, Tashi Sherpa from Ghunsa informed that Ghunsa, Phale, Olangchunggola, Yangla and other upper areas had snowfall. Yangla is the human settlement at the highest altitude-4,200 meter- in the district.

Similarly, the border areas of Sankhuwasabha and Tehrathum districts as Tinjure, Milke, Jaljale also got snowfall.

Although the snowfall brought brutal cold, the farmers have felt relief that the winter crops would thrive.
