Rabi Lamichhane still waiting to give statement to Kaski Court

KATHMANDU: The testimonies of defendants in the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case are ongoing at the District Court, Kaski.

The hearings, which began on Monday under Judge Nitij Rai, have thus far seen the completion of Chhabilal Joshi’s testimony.

Joshi, the former director of Gorkha Media Network, was the first to give his statement.

Following Joshi, Lila Pacchai began her statement, which is still in progress. Due to a public holiday yesterday, the court was unable to continue her testimony.

Suraj Adhikari, Court Information Officer, said it remains unclear who will be called to testify after Pachai.

The Government Attorney’s Office, Kaski filed charges against 44 individuals, including Lamichhane and former DIG Joshi, for their involvement in the cooperative fraud.

To date, 63 individuals have been implicated in the case, with the official case being registered at the District Court, Kaski.
