Government urged to renew crusher, sand industries established lawfully

KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepal Crushers and Mining Industry Entrepreneurs (FNCMIE) has requested the government to ensure the renewal of registered crusher and quarrying industries.

At an installation programme of the Federation leadership here today, the participants also demanded the revision regarding the distance criteria for crushers and sand quarries, reminding of the Supreme Court verdict to consider about adopting flexibility in this criteria.

They called for revising the criteria thinking about it from a practical approach.

The newly-elected president of the Federation, Sitaram Neupane, urged the government to facilitate the export of processed construction materials bearing in mind its economic benefits for the country.

The recently concluded General Convention of the Federation elected the new leadership comprising Neupane as president and Chandramani Adhikari as senior vice president.

Regional vice presidents are Rohit Bahadur Karki from Koshi Province, Ramnarayan Prasad Yadav from Madhesh, Devaraj Luintel from Bagmati, Leeladhar Baral from Gandaki, and Min Bahadur Shahi from Lumbini.

Devaraj Tamang has been elected as the general secretary.

The General Convention was attended by representatives from 780 quarries and sand industries from across the country.
