Rabi Lamichhane to be brought to Kathmandu today

KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), is scheduled to be brought to Kathmandu from Pokhara today.

He was arrested on charges of cooperative fraud and is being transported after completing his statement in Pokhara.

According to Rabi’s secretariat, a Buddha Air flight has been booked for 8:30 AM today to facilitate his travel to Kathmandu.

His transfer comes after the Kaski District Court granted permission to extend his custody for an additional 15 days on Sunday to continue the investigation.

In Kathmandu, he will provide a statement as part of the inquiry into the Swarnalaxmi Cooperative fraud. Following this, he will be returned to Pokhara.

Rabi was initially arrested on October 18 in connection with the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case in Pokhara.
