RSP holding Central Committee meeting today

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is holding a meeting of its Central Committee today.

Scheduled for 1 PM at the party’s central office in Balaju, the meeting is scheduled to discuss several key issues, including contemporary politics, the situation following the arrest of RSP Chair Rabi Lamichhane, and the ongoing agitation.

Lamichhane was arrested in Kathmandu last Friday and is facing charges of cooperative fraud and organized crime.

He was subsequently taken to Pokhara that night.

The Kaski District Court initially granted a six-day investigation period, which was extended by an additional seven days on Thursday.

After a six-day demonstration in Pokhara, the RSP has shifted its focus to Kathmandu, beginning a movement there yesterday (Friday).

The central committee meeting is also scheduled to review the events of yesterday’s demonstration in Kathmandu.
