KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli faced vocal protests during the Gaura Festival program held on Monday in Kathmandu.

A group of youths chanted slogans against PM Oli, who had attended the event alongside Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba to extend his greetings to the people of Kathmandu celebrating the festival.

The youths raised numerous slogans, including KP… is a burden, who has brought pains and sufferings, …leave the country…!

Despite efforts by the organizers to restore calm, the crowd continued to shout slogans and use obscene language at the Gaura festival venue.

Prime Minister Oli expressed his disappointment with the situation, emphasizing that true Nepali values are about harmony and peace.

He lamented that some members of the new generation seem to disregard civility, decency, and dignity.

PM Oli was the chief guest at the event, with former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba serving as a special guest.

The organizers were dismayed by the lack of a welcoming atmosphere for Oli, who was attending the festival as a guest.
