NRB reduces bank and policy rates

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced a reduction in both the bank and policy rates as part of the monetary policy for fiscal year 2081/82.

Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari unveiled the new policy during an event held at Baluwatar on Friday.

According to Governor Adhikari, the policy rate has been reduced from 5.5 percent to 5 percent, while the bank rate has been lowered from 7 percent to 6.5 percent.

These reductions aim to stimulate the construction sector, which has been sluggish.
