Maoist Center to withdraw from Koshi provincial government

KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Center) is set to withdraw its support from the Koshi provincial government.

Four ministers from the party are scheduled to resign on Friday, marking the end of their participation in the government.

The ministers stepping down include Ganesh Uprety, Minister for Physical Development; Rajendra Karki, Health Minister; Narayan Burjha Magar, Tourism Minister; and Bandana Jangada, State Minister for Forest and Environment.

This decision follows a new alliance between the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML, which positions UML to lead the provincial government.

Consequently, Chief Minister Hikmat Karki of the UML will continue to lead the administration.
