NEPSE drops by 11.60 points on Wednesday

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 11.60 points on Wednesday, closing at 2060 points.

There was a slight decrease in the trading volume, dropping from Rs 4.18 billion the previous day to Rs 4.05 billion today.

While the prices of 57 companies increased, 186 saw declines, and 3 remained unchanged.

Most sectoral indices also decreased today.

The banking sector dropped by 7 points, development banks by 42 points, hotels and tourism by 15 points, life insurance by 61 points, manufacturing by 10 points, microfinance by 22 points, non-life insurance by 36 points, and the others group by 9 points.

The trade and finance sectors fell by 6 and 11 points, respectively.

Nepal Finance saw the highest price increase of 9.5 percent.

Other notable gainers included Shivam Hydro at 7.2 percent, Ganapati Microfinance at 7.1 percent, Muktinath Agriculture Company at 6.5 percent, and Swabhiman Microfinance at 5.1 percent.

Conversely, Sadhana Microfinance dropped by 6.3 percent, Himalayan Energy Development by 5.2 percent, Mid-Solu Hydro by 4.2 percent, and Samling Power by 4.1 percent.

In terms of trading volume, the leading companies were Nepal Finance, Goodwill Finance, NRN Infrastructure, Global IME Microfinance, and Pokhara Finance.
