Is Office of the Attorney General a sister organization of RSP, questions Sharma

KATHMANDU: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, has questioned whether the Office of the Attorney General is a sister organization of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

Addressing a protest organized by the Nepali Congress on Sunday in Kathmandu, General Secretary Sharma questioned the impartiality of the Office of the Attorney General for issuing letters that claimed Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s innocence in the cooperative fraud case and barred actions against him in a dual passport case.

The Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, has been obstructing parliamentary sessions for over a month, demanding a parliamentary probe committee to investigate Home Minister Lamichhane’s involvement in the cooperative fraud case.

The party took to the streets on Friday to intensify their protest.
