Government endorses policies and programs for upcoming FY

KATHMANDU: The government has endorsed the policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year 2024/25 despite obstructions from the main opposition party, Nepali Congress.

Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire announced the endorsement of the government’s policies and programs during the parliament meeting on Sunday.

Earlier, President Ram Chandra Poudel had presented the government’s policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year 2024/25 in a joint meeting of the parliament on May 14th.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stated that the ongoing parliamentary deadlock will end within a day or two.

Addressing the parliament meeting on Sunday, PM Dahal informed that discussions are continuously underway with the opposition party to resolve the parliamentary impasse.

“The conclusion of these discussions and meetings is positive,” said Dahal.

“Ahead of this parliament meeting, I held a meeting with the President of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, this morning. We are nearing an agreement. By the time we introduce the budget, the agreement will be in place,” Dahal further stated.

“It is only a matter of a day or two,” Dahal clarified.
