Police identify suspects in Lalitpur Holi incident, murder charges against five accused



KATHMANDU: Police have publicly identified the suspects involved in the Lalitpur Holi incident, where a tragic altercation occurred resulting in the death of two individuals.

On Sunday night, following Holi celebrations, a group of youths engaged in a violent confrontation at a restaurant located in Dholahiti, Lalitpur Metropolitan City-26.

At a press conference organized by the District Police Range, Lalitpur, four suspects were officially named in connection with the incident.

The individuals arrested and identified as suspects are Bijay Rai, originally from Sakela Rural Municipality-2, Khotang, who is the owner of the restaurant, Sulab Rai from the same address, Bishal Hang Makarung from Bhojpur, and Chengbhihang Rai from Gokarneshwor, Kathmandu.

Additionally, another suspect remains at large.

The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter and have charged the suspects with murder.

It has been disclosed that Bijay Rai has previously served a two-year sentence in a drug-related case.

Furthermore, the police have apprehended an additional eight individuals in connection with the case as part of their ongoing investigation.
