Nepal playing against Ireland ‘A’ after triumph in first match



KATHMANDU: After clinching victory in the opening match of the T20 series against Ireland ‘A’ on Monday, Nepal is gearing up for the second match today.

The match is set to commence at 1 pm at the Tribhuvan University ground in Kirtipur, with Nepal currently leading the two-match series 1-0.

Today marks the decisive second encounter in this series.

Nepal secured a win against Ireland Wolves in the first match on Monday.

Chasing the target of 122 runs set by Ireland Wolves, Nepal reached the goal with 4 wickets down in 16.1 overs.

In Nepal’s victorious pursuit, Sandeep Zora contributed 36 runs while Kushal Bhurtel remained unbeaten with 37 runs.

Additionally, Asif Seikh scored 16 runs, and Dipendra Singh Airi remained unbeaten with 20 runs.

Gulsan Jha contributed four runs, whereas captain Rohit Paudel was dismissed after scoring a single.

Meanwhile, Nepal ‘A’ is scheduled to engage in a three-match T20 and one-day series against Ireland.

The series is slated to kick off from Thursday onwards.

The squad for both formats against Ireland has been unveiled by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) under the leadership of Binod Bhandari.
