Gold prices drop by Rs 15,900 per tola



KATHMANDU: Gold prices have decreased significantly in the Nepali market today.

The Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Federation reported that gold is currently trading at Rs 151,300 per tola, down from Rs 167,200 rupees per tola on Sunday. It means that the price of gold decreased by Rs 15,900 per tola today.

Silver has also decreased in price, falling by Rs 115 per tola.

It is now being bought and sold at Rs 1,845 per tola, compared to Rs 1,960 on Sunday.

The sharp decline in gold and silver prices follows the government’s decision to reduce the tax on gold imports from 20 percent to 10 percent.

This tax cut has contributed to the notable drop in gold prices observed on Monday.
