Hilux recovered from 25 feet depth in Sunkoshi river; three passengers still missing



KATHMANDU: A Hilux Jeep (Province 3 Kha 023 Cha 6366) veered off the road and plunged into the Sunkoshi River on Saturday evening at Kudule, Golanjhor-1, Sindhuli district.

The vehicle was returning to Kathmandu from Halesi Mahadev Temple, Khotang, when the accident occurred.

According to police reports, there were four people inside the vehicle.

A diving team from the Armed Police Force (APF) was deployed to search for the missing individuals.

The vehicle was recovered from a depth of about 25 feet in the Sunkoshi River, but three passengers—Abin BK, 32 (the driver), Pranit Syagu, 30, and Balram Ghatuwa from Suryabinayak Municipality, Bhaktapur—are still missing.

One passenger managed to survive by jumping from the vehicle but sustained injuries.

The search for the missing individuals continues.
