RAMECHHAP: The death toll from the landslide in Doramba Shailung Rural Municipality-3 Tokarpur has risen to six.

Chief District Officer Anita Niraula stated that the bodies of six individuals, who went missing after the landslide triggered by incessant rain, have been recovered.

Four people remain unaccounted for. Anjana Shrestha, a young girl, was rescued but is in an injured state.

The deceased include 32-year-old Chandika Shrestha and her 18-month-old child, Amush, both from Doramba Shailung-3.

Also identified are 57-year-old Urmila Pahadi, 30-year-old Sandeep Pahadi, 11-year-old Santosh Pahadi, and 14-year-old Bigyan Pahadi, according to the District Police Office Ramechhap.

In addition to human casualties, some livestock are also missing following the landslide that swept away four houses.

The entire settlement is reported to be at risk.

The concrete bridge over the Adheri River, located at the border area of Ward No. 2 and 3 of Doramba Shailung, has also been destroyed.

This has complicated rescue efforts, as the road leading to the affected village is severely damaged.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing with a team of 11, including Ramechhap Police Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police Pradeep Kumar Singh, Nepali Seta, Armed Police, and local public representatives.
