Madhav Nepal expresses concern over potential party split

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has raised concerns about an alleged conspiracy against his party.

Speaking at the Central Committee meeting on Thursday, Chairman Nepal urged party leaders and members to be vigilant against these conspiracies.

Nepal did not specify who might be conspiring against him.

However, he has previously accused KP Sharma Oli, the current Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN-UML, of attempting to split the CPN (Unified Socialist).

Madhav Nepal has expressed growing concerns about a potential party split, especially following Oli’s appointment as Prime Minister.

There have been internal signs of dissatisfaction within the party, with leaders such as Kisan Shrestha and Prem Kumar Ale often expressing their discontent.

Additionally, Leader Ale and other party lawmakers are reportedly exploring alternative options.

It’s important to note that the CPN (Unified Socialist) itself was formed after splitting from the CPN-UML.
