Campus Chief’s death in Bara: Police nab seven on murder allegation

BARA: Police have arrested seven people in connection with the shooting and killing of a campus chief in Bara.

Hari Bhushan Kushwaha, the principal of Ramraja Multiple Campus in Kalaiya, was murdered on June 14.

According to DSP Dadhiram Neupane, the seven suspects arrested in the incident include: Awadhlal Prasad Kushwaha (32), Chandasi Prasad Kushwaha (29), Shrawan Kumar Sah, also known as Chulhai (27), Brahmadev Ram (50), Motilal Chaudhary (50), Radhesh Kumar Patel (34) and Binod Raut Kurmi (54).

The police confiscated three motorcycles, six rounds of ammunition, various mobile phones, laptops, and both Nepali and Indian SIM cards from the suspects, according to DSP Neupane.

The Bara District Court has extended the detention of the suspects by six days to facilitate further investigation into charges of murder and illegal possession of firearms.

Kushwaha was shot in the back by two assailants on a motorcycle in Adarshkotwal Rural Municipality-3, Batara, while he was on his way home.

He succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Neuro Hospital in Birgunj.

Previously, the police had detained two individuals suspected of involvement in the crime, though their identities have not been disclosed.
