Four, including police sergeant, nabbed for alleged theft of 20 million rupees



KATHMANDU: Four people, including a police sergeant, have been arrested on charges of stealing 20 million rupees from Bhaktapur.

The police made these arrests public, stating that the suspects posed as a team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) and entered a private residence to carry out the theft.

The incident took place at the home of Dilliraj Raut in Dadhikot, Bhaktapur.

It is alleged that Police Sergeant Krishna Bahadur Bohara, along with four others, entered the house claiming to be a CIB team and stole 20 million rupees from a drawer.

A motorcycle with a government license plate was reportedly used in the crime.

One suspect remains at large.

Sergeant Bohara, who was stationed at Maharajgunj – 2 Battalion, has also been detained.

The other arrested suspects are Sujan Rasaili, Bhim Bahadur Tamang, and Munaraj Rai.

Sergeant Bohara and Tamang are both from Bhotekoshi, Sindhupalchok.
