KMG Chair Sirohiya hospitalized due to heart issues

KATHMANDU: Kailash Sirohiya, Chairman of Kantipur Media Group in custody of District Police Office, Dhanusha, has been hospitalized due to heart problems.

Sirohiya, who has been in the custody for five days over a citizenship-related dispute, was admitted to the hospital after experiencing high blood pressure, irregular heartbeats, and severe headaches, according to his lawyer, Raman Karn.

He was admitted to the Provincial Hospital in Janakpur on Friday evening. However, due to the lack of neurology facilities there, he was transferred to Kavya Hospital.

Dr. S.K. Singh of Kavya Hospital stated that Sirohiya is being treated under the guidance of medical specialists.

His family mentioned that he has a history of diabetes and high blood pressure.

Given his abnormal health condition, doctors at Kavya Hospital have consulted with cardiologist Dr. Om Murti Anil for further treatment, the hospital reported.

On Friday, the District Court granted permission to detain Sirohiya for three more days. He was arrested on May 21 from the Kantipur office in Kathmandu.
