MYAGDI: Beni Municipality in Myagdi has introduced a digital house numbering system incorporating QR codes.

This new system includes detailed information about all residents, aiming to facilitate service delivery, enhance governance, and improve disaster management, according to Mayor Surat KC.

The QR code system provides 90 types of information, such as the house’s location, number of floors, color, number of rooms, and type of structure.

The digital numbering campaign commenced on Friday evening with Mayor KC handing over the first digital house number to Lilaram Gautam and Devi KC of New Road in Beni Municipality-8.

In the initial phase, digital house number plates will be installed in 1,900 houses across Wards No. 7 and 8 of the municipality.

Details of 7,200 houses in all 10 wards of the municipality have been recorded in the electronic system.

The municipality is preparing to print and distribute the digital number plates for these houses.

Uttam Karmacharya, the Ward President of Beni Municipality-8, explained that the digital house number system is designed to prevent the misuse of benefits and avoid duplication.

Additionally, house owners can update their details and seek immediate support for pregnant women, new mothers, sick individuals, and during disasters.
