National Development Council finalizing 16th five-year plan



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the National Development Council is taking place today to finalize the 16th five-year plan.

During the meeting, the National Planning Commission’s formulated short-term, long-term, and periodic development plans will take center stage for discussion.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, who is also the Chairman of the Commission, is slated to address the meeting alongside former prime ministers and top political leaders.

Dr. Min Bahadur Shrestha, the Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission, will initiate proceedings by presenting the draft of the 16th plan during the inaugural session.

Following this, participants will engage in discussions, sharing their insights on the draft.

Subsequently, the session will transition into topic-specific discussions, focusing on the nuances of the sixteenth plan.

Experts from diverse fields and representatives from the private sector will contribute their perspectives.

Through group discussions, participants will offer essential suggestions for refining the draft.
