Pokhara hosting national badminton tournament



POKHARA: The Lake City, Pokhara, is all set to host the 4th National Open Badminton Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

The event, sponsored by Pokhara Metropolitan City-29, will take place at the Badminton Hall of Bhugol Park in Pokhara Metropolitan City-30, on April 26 and 27.

Sharan Kumar Pradhan, the President of the Club, disclosed the details of the tournament, which is poised to draw attention from badminton enthusiasts across the nation.

A total of 126 teams are gearing up to showcase their skills across various categories including A Label Men’s Double, C Label Men’s Double, Men’s Doubles above 55 years, and Women’s Doubles.

In the A Label Men’s Doubles category, the top three pairs will not only claim medals and certificates but also cash prizes of Rs 41,000, Rs 22,000, and Rs 11,000 respectively.

Similarly, champions in the C Label Men’s Doubles category will be honored with medals, certificates, and cash prizes of Rs 35,000, Rs 18,000, and Rs 6,000 for the first, second, and third place respectively.

For the seasoned players competing in the Men’s Doubles above 55 years category, the rewards are equally enticing.

The triumphant pairs will get cash prizes of Rs 30,000, Rs 16,000, and Rs 6,000 along with the accolades of medals and certificates.
