Woman consumes poison in National Women Commission premises



KATHMANDU: A 30-year-old woman has consumed poison at the National Women Commission (NWC) on Monday.

According to a family source, Bishnu Bishwokarma (name changed) from Dang complained that she did not receive proper justice from the Dalit rights advocating organization, and recently her husband also divorced her.

The family source informed that she had reached NWC after not receiving appropriate decisions from the Dalit rights advocating organization.

After the investigation, she was found to have consumed poison in the restroom of the Women’s Commission.

She is currently undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital.

The NWC could not be contacted for information about the incident.
