Two Nepali players competing in USA Open Int’l Karate Championship



KATHMANDU: Two Nepali players are competing in USA Open International Karate Championship.

The championship is scheduled from March 26-31 at Texas of America.

Erika Gurung and Biplav Lal Shrestha from Nepal are participating in the championship.

Erika is the silver medal winner of the 19th Asian Games organised in China.

Similarly, Biplav had won gold medal in the 13th Asian Games held in Nepal.

Erika is competing towards women’s above 68 kg category while Biplav men’s above 84 kg category.

Deepak Shrestha and Kushal Shrestha are the coach.

Three-member team except Kushal is leaving for US today itself.

Kushal, however, would leave for America tomorrow.

Member-Secretary of the National Sports Council, Tanka Lal Ghising, today wished the Nepali team for the success and bade farewell to them.
