KATHMANDU: CPN-Unified Socialist Party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has indicated preparations to nominate a candidate from the party for the upcoming by-elections scheduled for April 27.
Addressing the elected district committee officials from the 10th district convention during a meeting in Kavre on Monday, Nepal addressed the swearing-in ceremony and stated that until cooperation is sought from other parties, the party would contest the elections alone.
He made it clear that no one would be able to stop the party from fielding a candidate in Bajhang, despite discussions within the Socialist Forum and CPN-Maoist Center regarding candidate nominations in Ilam.
Additionally, during discussions held on Monday morning, Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, and Nepal himself reportedly informed about the nomination of candidates for the by-elections.
Furthermore, Chairman Nepal emphasized the party’s crucial role in political stability, combating misconduct, and defending the constitution.
He mentioned the necessity for all communists in Nepal to unite, while also highlighting the need for favorable circumstances to achieve this.
During the completion of the 10th district convention on March 17, Chairman Nepal administered the oath of office to 58 district committee members formed under the chairmanship of Basundhara Humagain.
Subsequently, he directed them to work for the party’s popularity, even dismissing some members to ensure the party’s progress.
