CHITWAN: Chairman of the National Assembly (NA), Narayan Prasad Dahal, has emphasized that the primary responsibility of the National Assembly is to serve as a vital link between all three tiers of government.
Speaking to journalists in Chitwan today, he underscored that the National Assembly’s mandate includes facilitating communication between the local level and the Provincial Assembly.
Chairman Dahal emphasized that the National Assembly serves as a platform for discussing the sentiments, challenges, intricacies, and opportunities prevailing at the state and local levels.
He highlighted that the deliberations held within the National Assembly are channeled to the government through the House of Representatives.
Chairman Dahal also outlined a structured approach, noting that every month’s final week is dedicated to addressing the issues and seeking solutions pertaining to the seven provinces.
He affirmed, “I have ensured that esteemed representatives from all seven provinces have the opportunity to voice concerns regarding provincial affairs.”
Asserting the pivotal role of the National Assembly in bridging governance levels, Chairman Dahal stressed the need to underline its significance, especially among those who may not fully comprehend its role.
He also pointed out the efficiency of the National Assembly, highlighting that most bills are passed unanimously, ensuring expedited legislative processes.
He reassured that bills presented to the National Assembly will not face prolonged delays.
In the context of legislative activity, Chairman Dahal mentioned that over the past six years, four bills have been introduced in the National Assembly, all of which were unanimously approved and forwarded.
