Bill to amend Political Parties Act presented in HoR

KATHMANDU: In a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, presented the Political Parties (second amendment) Bill, 208o BS’.

Some provisions in the Act-2073 BS (2017) were amended through an ordnance and the Bill aims to endorse existing provisions when the ordinance has been already scrapped.

Prior to this, Speaker Devraj Ghimire tabled a notice of protest received against the proposal seeking permission to present the Bill and a majority had disapproved the proposal.

The lower house shall meet again at 11:00 am on Monday, February 26.
