EC schedules by-election for Illam and Bajhang on April 27

KATHMANDU:  The Election Commission has set April 27 as the date for a crucial by-election in Illam and Bajhang.

Following a meeting of office bearers held on Sunday, the commission decided to conduct the by-election in Illam constituency 2 and Bajhang Provincial Assembly constituency 1 on the specified date.

The by-elections have been necessitated by the unfortunate passing of House of Representatives (HoR) member Subhash Nembang from Illam and Provincial Assembly member Prithvi Bahadur Singh from Bajhang.

This announcement underscores the Election Commission’s commitment to ensuring the smooth functioning of democratic processes despite unforeseen circumstances.
