KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported a prevailing influence of westerly winds in Nepal, resulting in diverse weather conditions across the country.

The hilly areas of Nepal are currently experiencing a mix of partly to mostly cloudy conditions, while widespread fog envelops many parts of the Terai-Madhesh region, according to the Division.

By this afternoon, the weather is expected to clear up in the hilly areas of the country, especially in the Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces.

However, there remains a likelihood of light snowfall at specific locations in the highlands and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, extending to some other hilly and mountainous regions.

As night falls, the hilly areas in the Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces are anticipated to be mostly clear.

Conversely, the rest of the regions will also experience mostly clear conditions.

The Division has emphasized the importance of taking necessary measures and precautions, particularly in Terai-Madhesh, where the impact of fog may disrupt daily life, health, transportation, and air traffic.
