One arrested for murder in Chyasal



KATHMANDU: A 26-year-old cafe employee has been arrested for allegedly killing a customer during a dispute over a bill at a cafe in Chayasal in Lalitpur Metropolitan City.

According to Lalitpur Police Chief SSP Shekhar Koirala, the incident occurred late last night when the employee, working at the counter of The Town Cafe, attacked a customer with a knife.

The altercation reportedly began over the bill payment, which escalated to a physical confrontation outside the cafe.

During this conflict, the suspect, Hemraj Bhatta, a 26-year-old from Dadeldhura, stabbed 23-year-old Nayan Gurung.

Following the stabbing, Bhatta took the severely injured Gurung to B&B Hospital in Gwarko for treatment. However, Gurung succumbed to his injuries during medical care.

Bhatta was arrested on Monday night and is currently in custody.

Authorities have also detained the cafe owner and the cook for further investigation.
