Two individuals interviewed for chair of SEBON

KATHMANDU: The interview process for the post of Chair of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) moved forward on Sunday with two candidates presenting their work plans to the Ministry of Finance.

Nawaraj Adhikari, the outgoing Executive Director of SEBON, and Krishna Bahadur Karki, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), were interviewed for the prestigious position. Both candidates outlined their visions for the future of the SEBON, which plays a critical role in regulating Nepal’s securities market.

However, the former Chair of the Nepal Insurance Authority, Chiranjeevi Chapagain, was absent from today’s interview. The other candidates for the role, Santosh Narayan Shrestha and Muktinath Shrestha, had already participated in previous interviews.

With these two interviews, the total number of interviewees has now reached four. Following the completion of the interviews, the Ministry of Finance will recommend three names to the Council of Ministers, which is tasked with selecting the final Chairman of the Board.

The process for appointing the new Chairman of the SEBON is now progressing as expected.
