Kaski Court extends Rabi’s custody by another 15 days

The Kaski District Court has extended the remand for investigation of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane by another 15 days.

The bench, led by Judge Bhimlal Belbase, approved the continuation of Lamichhane’s custody for an additional 15 days to facilitate the ongoing investigation.

Lamichhane was brought before the district court today after the 13-day remand expired.

Kathmandu court extends Durga Prasai’s custody by 5 days

The Kathmandu District Court has granted permission to keep Durga Prasai, medical entrepreneur  arrested in connection with cybercrime, in custody for an additional five days to facilitate further investigation.

Nabinda Aryal, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Cyber Bureau, confirmed the decision on Sunday.

Prasai had previously been granted a five-day remand extension, which concluded recently.

Gold price up by Rs 1,700 per tola today

The price of gold has increased today, rising by Rs 1,700 per tola. Silver prices have also gone up today.

After consistently rising for five consecutive days last week, the price of gold has continued its upward trend on the first day of this week, increasing by Rs 1,700 per tola.

Today, the price of gold has reached Rs 1,67,200 per tola, compared to Rs 1,65,500 per tola last Friday.

Speaker Ghimire meets with Cambodian counterpart

Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire, who is on a five-day visit to Cambodia, held a courtesy meeting with the President of the Cambodian lower house, the National Assembly, according to Speaker Ghimire’s secretariat.

In the meeting with the chairperson of the National Assembly of Cambodia, Samdech Rathsaphea Thika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, matters of bilateral interests, progress of Nepal’s peace process, parliamentary exchange and other issues were discussed.

The Speaker thanked his Cambodian counterpart for organizing and inviting him to the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace.

Indian Army Chief Dwivedi returns home

Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, who had been on a five-day official visit to Nepal, returned to India on Sunday.

General Dwivedi, accompanied by his wife Sunita Dwivedi, was on the visit at the formal invitation of Nepal’s Chief of Army Staff, General Ashok Raj Sigdel.

Upon arrival, he was welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by Lieutenant Colonel Prem Dhoj Adhikari, Chief of the Department of War Affairs.
