MOHATTARI: Service of the Provincial Hospital has been affected due to shortage of doctors.

This has resulted after three in-service doctors resigned en masse. Orthopedic Dr Saroj Bhagat said that they resigned because they did not receive salary, allowances and other benefits.

The hospital receives on an average 200 patients every day. On of them, Anil Kumar Sah of Jaleshwor-2 said that they were affected due to the lack of specialist doctors.

Meanwhile, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Prabhat Kumar Gami, admitted that service was affected after the resignation of three doctors and said that he was working towards resolving the problem.

He said that continuous discussions are underway with the Hospital Management Committee, Madhesh government and the Ministry of Health to resolve the issue.

Gami expressed the confidence that the resigned doctors would be provided their due salaries for till the month of Asad and to arrange the remaining amount as soon as possible.
