WASHINGTON DC: Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), has called on the international community to invest in Nepal.

Currently in the U.S. for the annual meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF), Dhakal emphasized the conducive environment for foreign investment and recent legislative amendments aimed at facilitating such investments.

During a meeting with high-ranking officials from these organizations, Dhakal pledged FNCCI’s commitment to supporting foreign investors interested in Nepal.

He specifically met with Imad Fakhoury, Regional Director for South Asia at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where they discussed the IFC’s role in strengthening Nepal’s private sector.

The discussions included other IFC officials and representatives from FNCCI. Additionally, Dhakal met with Samir Abhyankar, Executive Director of British International Investment, where they explored opportunities for increasing investment in Nepal’s tourism and hospitality sectors, as well as in hydropower and infrastructure, given the significant potential of these areas.
