RSP’s Rajiv Khatri defeats Mahesh Basnet in Bhaktapur-2



KATHMANDU: Rajiv Khatri of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected from Bhaktapur-2 in the House of Representatives election in Nepal.

Khatri secured 31,338 votes, defeating Mahesh Basnet of the CPN-UML party, who received 10,996 votes.

Kabir Rana of the Nepali Congress finished third with 8,401 votes.

With this result, Basnet has faced defeat in Bhaktapur-2 for the second consecutive election.
